Fair child, be warned, this game called love you play.
Its unpredictabilities still hold.
The stakes are high, only one wins the day.
The strategies of love you are not told.
Alertness is the rule – be on your guard.
To do battle against a foe so old.
It is your turn, observe, then show your card.
For if you lose, you know not what’s in store.
To live to see your girl taken away
and thrown into the arms or your own foe.
Retreat! Polish your skills – gamble once more.
And as they say, revenge is best served cold.
Win and make him lie in a pool of gore.
This game called love – you know you must be bold.
