My Dear

Call out to me, my dear, I will be there.
My love for you, my dear, is true and rare.
Feel it, my dear, our love which we will share.
It will always be more than Cupid’s wares.
Fear not, my dear, our love He will not tear.
Trust me, my dear, our love we can still bear.
No pain, just gain, for both of us to care.
To love, to love, to love you dear, I dare.
So love me too, my dear, do not just stare.
Love me despite the fact of what I wear.
Feel it, my dear, our love which we will share.
Trust me, my dear, our love we can still bear.
No pain, just gain, for both of us to care.
To show our love – so rich and rare, we dare.

Poultry Night

As night descends, the sky begins to dim.
But that just marks the start of Poultry Night.
The feast begins while music starts to play.
Six pits were dugged and judged accordingly.
CO unveiled the winning flag design.
Self-cooked and styled chickens and ducks galore;
fit for the kings, the judges praise and eat.
You must have seen the smiles on all the men.
They ate the ham and then the turkey too,
and drank the black chicken soup too, they did.
Amid all that, a drizzle came too soon.
But that added the flavour to the mood.
Sketches and songs we had, prepared for you.
And then we popped champagne to celebrate.

Revelation

Help did you not when I first asked you to
You bade me leave and did not see me through.
“Talk not to me” – you made your stand so clear.
To think that we were once always so dear.
Your coldness struck me and I left in tears,
The pain you caused me stuck with me these years.
Never will I forget this fateful day,
You drove me out and did not let me stay.
Over the years, your fortunes seemed to change.
Once rich, now poor, you have yourself to blame.
And as you turn to me for help,”my dear”,
My message now to you is loud and clear.
Your woes are all but nothing of your own.
So blame me not when my heart turns to stone.
